If you are interested in working in a school or college setting and supporting in the classroom, we offer a range of Teaching Assistant courses from Level 1 to Level 3. Teachers are experts in their subject, they have many years’ experience of teaching and will make learning this subject fun and relevant.

Subject Information:
Teaching Assistants have two main roles, supporting learning, and supporting the main class teacher. Helping children and adults develop independent learning skills, manage their own learning and prioritise their time by providing one-to-one and small group support in the classroom to those who need it.

If you are interested in working in a school or college setting and supporting in the classroom, we offer a range of Teaching Assistant courses from Level 1 to Level 3. Teachers are experts in their subject, they have many years’ experience of teaching and will make learning this subject fun and relevant. Courses are ideal if you need term time only work.

These qualifications will provide you with the skills and knowledge to support teaching and learning in mainstream schools and colleges.

Students on Level 2 and 3 courses will need to have a voluntary work placement or be employed in a school. You will also need a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

We can signpost you to courses that widen your skills when working with children or adults with additional learning needs, including Award in Dyslexia Awareness Level 2 and Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities Level 2. There may be options to take additional work-ready qualifications including first aid and food safety alongside your main course, ask your teacher for information.

These courses will help you to think creatively, solve problems and provide you with transferable skills useful for everyday life and for any job. Teaching Assistant related jobs may include teaching assistant, higher level teaching assistant, SENCO, SEN teaching assistant, child minder, teacher, communications support worker and much more.
