Are you looking to work in the floristry industry, be self-employed, or enjoy making arrangements for your home and family?
Why not take this chance to learn new skills and develop your creative passion, there is something for everyone? You will learn about plants and flowers and how to combine them to make stunning arrangements to a professional standard. We have courses to suit people of all abilities, interests and ambitions.
We aim to help you to develop:
- skills in flower arranging and floristry
- the underpinning knowledge of the floristry process
- your knowledge of enterprise and opportunities for employment in the creative sector
- the skills to progress to further learning
On these courses you will:
- develop a portfolio of work
- use materials, tools and equipment correctly and safely
- develop research skills
- evaluate own work, develop ideas and learning through the floristry process
- develop an understanding of the health and safety consideration in the classroom when working with this craft
Teachers have experience of working in the floristry industry and we offer courses at all levels from complete beginners to Level 2.
There may be options to take additional work-ready qualifications such as first aid alongside your main course, just ask your teacher for details.
These courses will help you to think creatively, solve problems and provide you with the transferable skills useful for everyday life for any job. Floristry related jobs may be in self-employment or in employment as a florist, floral designer, as an events planner or teacher and much more.
