SEND Open Event - Wednesday 13th May 2026
Staff and students at Adult Education Wolverhampton were delighted to welcome visitors to the SEND Open Event, held at the City Learning Quarter site on 13th May.
Visitors found out about our Life Skills learning and Supported Internships programmes, whilst enjoying the refreshments on offer.
They were able to visit classes taking place in our Old Hall Street building, including Employability, English and Digital Skills and took part in Q&A sessions, learning activities and quizzes.
We were also delighted to show off our fantastic new accessible kitchen for Life Skills Cookery classes which impressed everyone who came through the doors and saw our students cooking some delicious quiches!
Emma, Jamahl and Leia, from the City of Wolverhampton Council’s brilliant Supported Employment Team, kindly joined us at the event to give expert information, advice and guidance on progression to our employability learning programmes - with the goal of securing paid employment via our Supported Internship and Employment programmes.
Our guests could also purchase items created by our students at our Craft Fair, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research.
Many thanks to all our visitors, staff and students for their dedication, support and hard work in making the event such a success.
Do you, or someone you know, have a learning difficulty, disability, and / or autism? Are you interested in finding out more about our courses and how we can help you develop your confidence, life and work skills and progress towards greater independence?
