Meet Carl Wilding AEW’s new IT teacher
“I began my journey into teaching in 2019 when I graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a first-class Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. Following this I gained my PGCE and fell in love with teaching. Since then, I have worked as a Teaching Associate and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton, and most recently, I was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Birmingham – all in Computer Science related courses.
Now I find myself here, at Adult Education Wolverhampton. My decision to apply for a role here was based on multiple factors. One being the most important – this is my home town. I was born and raised in Wolverhampton and I am proud of where I come from. I hope to be helpful to my home town and help people succeed in education and hopefully have a brighter outlook for life.
Upon seeing the post for this role, I was excited at the prospect of working here. I enjoy teaching, and I equally enjoy seeing people succeed. My passion for teaching comes from when I re-entered education at the age of 33 and gained my Access to H.E qualification which has led me to being where I am today. I hope to provide the same opportunity to students that I was given, which is the main reason why I am writing this today.
Since I started here at AEW, I have been made to feel extremely welcome. The team I have joined has been fantastic at making me feel at home and have been very supportive while I get to grips with my new role. I hope to bring my own dynamic and style into the team, and the classroom, which in turn will pass onto the achievements of my students.
This academic year I hope to bring a fun, inviting and successful passion for teaching into the classroom for my students. I plan to bring my own expertise and knowledge to the classroom and I look forward to seeing students learn new skills. For the students I have been involved with so far this year, I have had great pleasure in helping you learn new skills and hope to see you continue and be successful in your plans and goals.”
