Matrix Standard Accreditation - 2026 - Congratulations to AEW!

Adult Education Wolverhampton is celebrating after successfully retaining its prestigious matrix accreditation, reaffirming the high-quality support it provides to learners across the city.

The matrix Standard is the internationally recognised quality benchmark for organisations delivering information, advice and guidance. Retaining this accreditation highlights Adult Education Wolverhampton’s continued commitment to helping students make informed choices, progress confidently, and achieve their goals.

Assessors praised the service for its standout strengths, including the presence of a highly qualified Careers Guidance Officer within the team. This specialist expertise ensures staff are exceptionally well supported to deliver high-quality information, advice and guidance to students at every stage of their learning journey.

The assessment also recognised the service’s investment in a dedicated Stakeholder Engagement Officer, whose role focuses on building strong relationships with employers and partners across Wolverhampton. These vital connections help open doors to new opportunities, supporting students to turn their ambitions into reality.

Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company, which manages the matrix Standard for the Department for Education, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Adult Education Wolverhampton, and I would like to congratulate the team on their success.

“At the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a clear focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by the effective use of resources.

“The matrix Standard benchmarks organisations against best practice in these areas, and this accreditation success shows that Adult Education Wolverhampton is committed to providing the very best support to its clients.”

Councillor Chris Burden, City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for City Development, Jobs and Skills, added: “Every year, thousands of people from across the city take part in classes with Adult Education Wolverhampton, and this accreditation success demonstrates the high standard of information, advice and guidance available to support them on their learning journey.
