Building Connections Across Wolverhampton
Adult Education Wolverhampton was delighted to welcome professionals, organisations and local businesses to our centre this week as we hosted the Business Breakfast with the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.
The event brought together members of the local business community for a morning of networking, discussion and collaboration, creating opportunities for organisations across Wolverhampton and the wider Black Country to connect and share ideas.
Guests enjoyed breakfast and informal networking before hearing from members of the Adult Education Wolverhampton team about the work taking place across the service and the importance of creating opportunities for adult learners both inside and outside the classroom.
The morning also included presentations and open discussions around partnership working, community engagement and ways local businesses can support learners through future initiatives such as careers fairs, employer engagement and collaborative activities.
One of the standout moments of the event came from a former Adult Education Wolverhampton student, who shared her inspiring journey from moving to the UK from India to studying at AEW, volunteering with the service, completing her Master’s degree and now working at AEW as a Support Worker while continuing her studies.
Her story highlighted not only the impact of adult education, but also the importance of confidence, communication and community support when adapting to life and work in a new country. Speaking about her experiences, she reflected on learning “the language behind the language”, understanding cultural communication styles and building confidence in professional environments.
The event reflected Adult Education Wolverhampton’s ongoing commitment to strengthening relationships within the local community and working alongside employers and organisations to support progression opportunities for learners.
We would like to thank the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and everyone who attended for contributing to such a welcoming and engaging morning. We look forward to continuing these conversations and building new partnerships that help create positive opportunities across Wolverhampton.
