This course is designed for adults who want to further develop their employability skills and prepare for progression into employment, volunteering, or Level 1 study. It supports students to build confidence, independence, and responsibility in work related situations.
The course is suitable for students progressing from Entry Level 2 or for those assessed as working at Entry Level 3 who want to strengthen their skills and understanding of workplace expectations.
There are a variety of pathways to choose from which include:
- Personal Development Skills
- English Skills
- Maths Skills
- Digital Skills
- Hospitality and Catering
- You must be aged 19 or over
- No formal qualifications required (Entry Level 2 experience is helpful)
- A willingness to take part in practical activities, discussions, and group work
- Motivation to progress towards employment or further learning
- Regular attendance and active participation in class
- Develop greater confidence and independence in work related situations
- Improve communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills
- Gain a nationally recognised qualification
- Prepare for progression to Level 1 courses, volunteering, or employment
- Increase readiness for job applications, interviews, and training opportunities
You will learn through a range of practical and supportive approaches, including:
- Teacher led sessions and guided discussion
- Practical activities and workplace based scenarios
- Role play and problem solving tasks
- Group work and individual activities
- Worksheets and supported written tasks
Learning is delivered in a supportive adult learning environment with guidance adapted to individual needs.
There are no formal exams
Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence
Evidence may include:
- Practical activities
- Teacher observation records
- Question and answer tasks
- Written or recorded student work
Teachers provide regular feedback to support progress and achievement
