• This introductory course is designed to help you build practical sewing skills that make everyday life easier whilst opening doors to future work opportunities.

Some of the skills covered will include:

• Using basic sewing equipment safely (sewing machine, needles, scissors, pins, thread)
• Threading a sewing machine and winding a bobbin
• Understanding basic stitches (straight stitch, zigzag, backstitch)
• Cutting fabric accurately using patterns or measurements
• Pressing and finishing seams neatly

• You must be aged 19 or over.
• An initial assessment will ensure you join the right level.
• Suitable for beginners or those returning to learning.

• Learn a new practical skill in a friendly, relaxed environment
• Enjoy a creative activity that can help you relax and reduce stress
• Learn how to mend, alter and make simple items, saving money on clothes and household items
• Discover ways to reuse and recycle fabric, helping the environment
