• You must be aged 19 or over.
• An initial assessment will ensure you join the right level.
• Completion of Level 1 Award in British Sign Language (recommended)
• Suitable for adults with a working knowledge of basic BSL wishing to progress to the next level.
• Students must have adequate vision, dexterity and facial expression skills needed for BSL communication
• Regular attendance and independent practice recommended.

• Improves ability to communicate confidently with Deaf people in a wide range of everyday situations.
• Builds strong expressive and receptive skills using intermediate BSL grammar.
• Provides a stepping stone to Level 3 BSL and advanced qualifications.
• Helps students develop workplace-relevant communication skills for customer-facing, educational, care or public service roles.

• Teacher-led demonstrations and practice with Deaf or fluent BSL tutors.
• Pair work and group conversation activities.

• Independent study using BSL videos, vocabulary practice and homework.

• Internally assessed by your teacher and externally verified.
