• The course follows the ESOL Skills for Life (Level 1) qualification, which is based on the National Standards for Adult Literacy and the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum.
• Suitable for adults preparing for employment, volunteering, vocational courses, or pathways requiring Level 1/Level 2 English.
• Supports greater independence in using English at work, in the community, and when accessing services - key aims of the qualification.

• You must be aged 19 or over.
• Suitable for students who have completed ESOL Entry 3 or have equivalent English ability.
• A short initial assessment will ensure you join the correct level.
• Regular attendance and commitment to completing tasks are essential.

• Increases confidence and fluency in higher-level English skills needed in work, education and daily life.
• Helps students become independent of interpreters, enabling self-sufficient communication in the UK.
• Supports progression to vocational training, employment or higher-level ESOL study.
• Builds strong reading, writing and critical communication skills needed for modern workplaces.
• Help students access services, travel confidently and engage fully in the community
