Get on your bikes and celebrate cycling on free family ride around the city
A great free family bike ride and fun day is being held in Wolverhampton to celebrate cycling. We know that the benefits of physical exercise are immense and include not just the obvious improvements to overall fitness levels but can improve our mental health – reducing anxiety and depression.
Please promote the event to family, friends and our students.
The Wolverhampton Kidical Mass 2025 event is on Saturday 14 June and the ride sets off from East Park, where there will also be bike skills, learner riding sessions, family entertainment and refreshments throughout the day from 11am-3pm.
Riders will pedal to Molineux and back to the park in Hickman Avenue along public roads and cycle lanes developed by the council.
Mayor of the West Midlands, Richard Parker is expected be in attendance to set the cyclists off shorty after midday, following short speeches.
He will be joined by Wolverhampton cycling legend and the city’s cycling ambassador Hugh Porter MBE. Hugh is a Commonwealth Games gold medallist and former world champion.
The event has been organised by No Limits to Health CIC working with the council, West Midlands Combined Authority and Transport for West Midlands.
