Dominic Chand and Oliver Thomas from the Council's Green Cities & Circular Economy Team delivered the first of two engaging sessions to a group of Access to Higher Education students!

The session covered the following topics:
• General information about climate change
• The global and local impacts of climate change
• The benefits of climate action
• Barriers to climate action and how to overcome them
• Opportunities for further training and involvement

The students showed fantastic engagement, with many interested in learning more about specific climate actions and the session's content.

The second of the 2 sessions was delivered to a group of Life Skills students (students with learning difficulties).

Through interactive, hands-on activities, students not only gained a better understanding of how climate change occurs but also explored the real-world impact on our planet and its inhabitants. More importantly, they discovered practical ways they can contribute to reducing carbon emissions and making a difference!

The students were fully engaged, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. Their curiosity shone through as they shared their thoughts, and expressed a strong desire to take action. It was truly uplifting to see their determination to be part of the solution.

A huge thank you to Dominic Chand and the team for delivering such a meaningful, empowering, and enjoyable session. The students left the session motivated, inspired, and ready to play their part in protecting our planet!

Together, we can make a difference and empower the next generation to take climate action and build a more sustainable future!
