Advisory board visit

Staff and students would like to extend their thanks to Mary Mahoney, member of the Adult Education Wolverhampton advisory board, for visiting classes on Monday 29 January and spending time with students from the Continuing Education department. The advisory board is made up of key educational professionals whose role it is to create a learning forum providing independent information and advice to managers.

Mary spent time talking to staff and students from Teaching Assistant, Sewing & Textile and Supported Employment courses finding out about what they have been learning and where they see their next steps. Mary was impressed by the variety of courses taking place and the impact that learning was having on the confidence to face their next steps head on. Many of the students hope to gain work and are already taking part in work placements to support this ambition.
