Adult Education Wolverhampton continues to respond to social distancing restrictions and put a flexible, free, online offer together for you.

The courses are aimed at people who want to learn something new, develop their job skills or look after their wellbeing.
 
Subjects include family learning, language support, work skills and improving your mental and physical wellbeing, with new courses being added all the time.

What do I need to take part?

You can take part at home at a time to suit you. If you are new to it, don’t worry we are here to help you.

These courses will be delivered through online applications (apps). These are easy to use on your home PC, Tablet or Smartphones (mobile with internet access).


What is Microsoft Office 365?

  • You will get access to Microsoft Office 365 for free when you enrol on one of our courses. 
  • This means you will have access to an email address, and other applications including PowerPoint, Skype, Word, Excel & Teams.
  • It is easy to access and secure. 
  • By using Microsoft Teams you will be able to access resources to support your online learning. 
  • Resources will include activity handouts, links to useful websites and YouTube videos. 
  • Teams will also allow you to get one-to-one or group support and feedback from your teacher via a chat facility or by video. 
  • Once you have enrolled, your teacher will show you how to access the app. 

What is Padlet?

  • Padlet is an online open classroom environment, that allows you and your teacher to share teaching and learning activities through, word documents, video demonstrations, and video communication.
  • All sessions are clearly identified on Padlet in one screen. This makes it really easy to navigate your way through each activity. 
  • Your teacher will contact you before starting the course and support you in using the online learning facilities and will send you a link to the Padlet to your email account, so accessing Padlet is just one click away
  • One you have enrolled, your teacher will show you how to access the app.

What is VLE?

  • Adult Education Wolverhampton’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a secure online tool to support you with your studies. 
  • It has been designed to complement teaching and offers a flexible addition to studying with us. 
  • You will be able to access resources, engage in online activities, study independently, and participate in group discussions with your teacher. 
  • Once you are enrolled your teacher will provide you with an enrolment key and show you how to access the resource.
