Laima began her learning journey with Adult Education Wolverhampton by enrolling on a Childcare Level 1 qualification. From the very start, she showed a strong commitment to her studies and a clear ambition to progress within the early years sector.

After successfully completing Level 1, Laima took the next step in her journey and is now studying the Early Years Practitioner (EYP) Level 2 Diploma. This transition brings increased academic demands and higher expectations, particularly within placement settings. Laima has embraced this challenge with maturity, resilience and determination, demonstrating just how far she has come.

Alongside her main course, Laima is also studying English and Maths to support her long-term career goals. Balancing multiple qualifications is no small task, but she approaches every aspect of her learning with focus and perseverance. She actively seeks feedback and consistently applies it, resulting in clear improvements in the structure, depth and quality of her work.

A key part of Laima's journey has been her placement within a primary school reception class, where she has already completed over 100 hours. She approaches each day with professionalism and enthusiasm, making meaningful connections between theory and practice. Although not required, Laima completes detailed weekly reflections on her placement, carefully evaluating her experiences and identifying ways to improve. This extra effort highlights her commitment to becoming the best early years practitioner she can be.

Laima often shares how her learning extends beyond the classroom. As a parent of two young children, she applies her knowledge at home, recognising how theory comes to life in real situations. These experiences continue to strengthen both her understanding and her passion for working in early years.

In the classroom, Laima is a positive and supportive presence. She contributes confidently to discussions, participates fully in activities, and creates a welcoming environment for those around her. Her peers have recognised the encouragement and positivity she brings, making her a valued member of the group.

What truly stands out about Laima is her determination. She approaches challenges with a positive mindset, using them as motivation to keep improving. The step up from Level 1 to Level 2 has only driven her further, and she continues to develop both academically and personally with each passing week.

In recognition of her dedication and outstanding progress, Laima has been nominated for the NCFE Aspiration Award: Student of the Year. This nomination reflects the hard work, resilience and passion she brings to her learning every day. We would like to congratulate Laima on this well-deserved recognition and celebrate the incredible journey she continues to make.

Laima's journey is a powerful example of what can be achieved through hard work, resilience and a genuine passion for learning. She is a credit to herself, her family and Adult Education Wolverhampton, and her future in the early years sector is incredibly bright.
