Students from our Level 2 Art course recently visited the University of Wolverhampton School of Art to take part in an inspiring printmaking workshop led by Senior Lecturer Amy Dewhirst.
The workshop introduced them to a range of specialist intaglio printmaking techniques using professional equipment within the University's creative facilities. Throughout the session, students explored new artistic approaches and produced a series of prints inspired by their current Level 2 final projects.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to experience learning within a higher education environment while developing practical creative skills that support progression into further study and careers within the creative industries.
Working with specialist materials and equipment also allowed them to broaden their understanding of contemporary printmaking processes and gain confidence experimenting with new techniques in a professional studio setting.
Adult Education Wolverhampton is pleased to be working collaboratively with the University to create enriching opportunities that support students' creative development and future aspirations. Plans are currently being explored to develop further workshops, giving our students continued access to specialist expertise, facilities and industry-relevant experiences.
Experiences such as these play an important role in helping students build confidence, expand their creative practice and explore future pathways into higher education and the arts sector.
