Interested in improving your ICT skills? The ITQ Level 1 Award is appropriate for you if you already have some basic computer skills and would like to develop these further:
- to support you at work
- to increase your employability prospects
- to participate in the increasingly digital world we live in
The course will run for 20 weeks starting in March 2020 on Wednesday evenings from 18:00 – 21:00.
What will I learn? This course will give you a good level of knowledge and skills in a range of computer programmes that most employers desire.
You will learn new skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and how to apply them using File Explorer to organise your files.
Course requirementsYou do not require any previous ICT qualifications but you would need some knowledge of basic computer skills. You will also need good literacy skills as you will need to read and follow instructions in booklets and practice exercises.
Before being offered a place on the course you will need to attend an interview with the course teacher and complete a short skills check.
Every student will have an individual learning programme in which your teacher will set targets for each session. There are three exams in total. You will take one exam at the end of each unit.
What qualification will I get?
Once you pass all three exams you will achieve OCR ITQ Level 1 Award.
The good news is that you will not have to pay for your ICT course. You won’t have to pay exam fees either.
