Former GCSE maths student nominated for award

Adult Education Wolverhampton is proud to announce that Alison Jones a former GCSE Maths student has been nominated for the Express and Star Big Thank You Learner Award.

What are the Great Big Thank You awards?

The awards celebrate people in local communities that have helped or have been inspirational to others.

The Express & Star, along with the awards sponsors, have been searching for the outstanding and selfless individuals and groups across the region who make a difference to the people around them - and usually don’t expect any recognition for what they do.

The Express & Star asked you to tell them about your family, friends, neighbours, colleagues, or someone who you have heard about and found their story inspirational. They could have provided a helping hand or stepped up when needed - the people who make a positive difference to where you live and work.

Alison’s story

Alison, a mother of 2 was inspired to go back to the classroom by her children resulting in her passing her GCSE maths exam almost 25 years after sitting it for the first time. Check out her full story HERE.
