Childcare & Teaching Assistant courses

Do you enjoy working with children and young people supporting them to develop and learn new things? Would you like to work in a nursery or a school but don't want to teach?

A job as a nursery or classroom assistant could be just what you're looking for. The roles are varied and you need to be adaptable.

Childcare

If you are interested in a career working with children, one of our short courses will provide you with the knowledge of basic child development and the skills to work with children.
Childcare courses at Level 1 and 2 will help you to develop the skills you will need to work with pre-school children and as a Nursery Assistant.
You will be invited to a skills check to make sure you are on the right course at the right level.

Teaching Assistants

We offer Teaching Assistant courses from Level 1 to Level 4.
These qualifications will provide you with the skills and knowledge to support teaching and learning in mainstream schools and colleges.
Students on Level 2 and 3 courses will need to have a voluntary work placement or be employed in a school. All students on Level 4 courses will need to be employed in an appropriate role in a school.
You will be invited for an informal interview and a skills check to make sure you are on the right course at the right level.
For all Level 2,3 and 4 courses you will also need a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
