Rebecca Hickie – Level 2 Teaching Assistants

With thanks to the support from Adult Education and my tutor, I have succeeded in getting the job I desired as a teaching assistant.

It has been just over 20 years since I was last in any kind of education.

The thought of going back into education after such a long time was very daunting, however, my tutor, soon helped me overcome any concerns with my educational abilities. In June, 2016, I enrolled on a level 2 teaching assistants course.

My first encounter with Adult Education, was in 2005, when I completed a BSL level 1 course. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, they always went above and beyond to help me succeed.

After having such a great experience first time around, I knew Adult Education would be the best place for me to study.

I have now completed my first year with Adult Education, training to be a teaching assistant. My confidence and knowledge of working with young children in the classroom, has increased greatly. With thanks to the support from Adult Education and my tutor I have succeeded in getting the job I desired as a teaching assistant.

In September, I plan to go on to complete my diploma at level 3. I am so grateful to everyone for all their help and support so far. I cannot recommend Adult Education enough, thanks to them, my life has changed so much in the last 12 months and I am excited to see what else is to come.
