"Coming back to education has given me more choice and a much better chance"

“I am a single mum of three children. I left school at 16, had my first child at 17 and spent the following years caring for my family. Being a single mom wasn’t easy and education was put on hold. My oldest is now 16 so in early 2016 I decided to focus on my education in order to better my chances of finding a job.

I was really scared at the start, it had been a very long time since school and I really had no Idea what to expect. I’ve started and completed my first stages in Maths and English, and have started the Steps to Care course. I am really enjoying the classes and love learning new things.

I have gained confidence and now feel I can do so much more. I will continue with my studies and plan to look for work in care or retail. Coming back to education has given me more choice and a much better chance. “
