"Adult Education was the stepping stone to my success"

“I am Ghanaian by birth and I attended both primary and secondary schools in Ghana before coming to Europe about twenty five years ago.

The first country I lived in was Netherlands-Amsterdam until 2010 when I moved to Wolverhampton. In 2012 I enrolled at Adult Education Wolverhampton to study English & Maths Level 1. I did the courses for one year and proceeded to do a Pre-access and a Level 3 Access to Higher Education course in Sociology and Psychology (including Maths & English). I went on to gain a L3 distinction which enabled me to progress on to the University of Wolverhampton to do Health & Social Care.

Adult Education was the stepping stone to my success, with the help of my tutor who was instrumental in guiding me through the basic aspects of the English language.

I am in my third year at university and will be finishing next year. I hope my story will help to inspire other people who have had no basic education here in England and wish to learn and progress!”
