Work experience opportunities in Italy this spring

Adult Education Wolverhampton is running the highly-praised programme in association with the European Union’s Erasmus Plus scheme, giving students the opportunity to learn new skills and have a taste of working in another European country.

More than 40 people from Wolverhampton have already benefitted from the experience on a wide range of work placements including nurseries, garages, fashion, restaurants, design studios, health spa’s, schools and charities.

Living the Italian way is all part of the experience. “I loved the food, the people and the places we visited” said Jordan, aged 23. “I believe the experience helped my CV stand out and has been helpful in getting me a job back here in Wolverhampton. It’s an opportunity not to be missed.”

There are 25 places still available on the programme this year and Adult Education Wolverhampton is currently encouraging applications from people aged 18 and over who are enthusiastic about learning and keen to gain work experience abroad. Successful applicants will join a special preparation programme where they will learn basic Italian and about Italian life and culture.

They will then head off on their placement in the north of Italy. Placements are expected to last up to three months and will take place between April and July 2017. Participants will receive funding from Erasmus Plus to cover the cost of their flights, accommodation and basic living expenses while on the placement.

Adult Education helps people learn employable skills and develop behaviours that will best equip them for the job market.

This project, will provide an excellent opportunity for people from Wolverhampton to gain first-hand experience working in Italy.
