British Sign Language Courses

In British Sign Language (BSL) we offer 11 week introductory courses which can then lead to achievement at Level 1, 2 and 3

The BSL Introduction to level 3 acts as an extended period of assessment in order to give you an idea of the requirements of the full level 3 course, and also to give the tutor an opportunity to assess your strengths and weaknesses as a BSL student.

On the L3 introduction course you will learn to use and understand BSL in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. You will develop functional communication skills in BSL in a range of real life, work and everyday experience. You will be taught in preparation for the full level 3 course.

BSL Level 3 will develop communication skills in BSL in a range of real life, every day and work scenarios and work towards the three units at Level 3. You will need to either; be working, volunteering or mixing socially with Deaf people in addition to attending the course.

For further information on these or any of the other levels please contact student Services on 551658
