Local History Research Opportunity

We are seeking submissions for the next Symposium. Researchers selected to speak at the event will have a chance of winning a Local History Bursary worth £400. The closing date for entries is Thursday 29th December 2017.

The 2017 Wolverhampton Local History Symposium is open to anyone currently undertaking research into the history of Wolverhampton. Submissions can be made by both individuals and groups who are undertaking research. Applicants interested in submitting details of their research should do so in writing, describing their area of interest on a maximum of 1 side of A4.

The subject of this research must be wholly or at least partially relating to the city of Wolverhampton.

The Bursary amounts to the sum of £400, and is offered to encourage new and significant research into the history of Wolverhampton, and to help with research costs. The Bursary will be awarded by the Symposium Organising Committee to the individual(s) currently undertaking research into a neglected or under-represented area of Wolverhampton’s history.
