Improve your English skills

Improving your English skills will help you in everyday life and work situations. If your goal is to get a job, get a promotion or progress to higher level study, then improving your English skills is a great start. If English is not your first language, you will need to achieve a full Level 1 in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or equivalent, before joining an English course.

English courses will give you the opportunity to:

  • develop confidence and good communication skills
  • improve your reading and writing skills
  • improve your spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • gain a nationally recognised qualification in English that will help you work towards further qualifications
  • improve your job prospects

Levels on offer

We have English courses at all levels to suit people of all abilities, interests and ambitions. Courses are offered at all levels from Pre-Entry, where you can begin to learn to read and write, up to Level 2 and GCSE. You will have the opportunity to progress at the pace best suited to you. We have both daytime and evening English courses on various days of the week.

How much will this course cost?

The good news is that you will not have to pay for your English course if you do not yet have a GCSE grade 9-4 (A*- C) or above in this subject. You won’t have to pay exam and assessment fees either.
